Grand Carnival Opening

News no responses

The Rio di Cannaregio turns into a real water stage with a show that every year attracts thousands of spectators, where floating structures transfer the theme of Carnival to the water.

The Grand Opening of the Venice Carnival 2017 is entrusted to the skilled creative minds of Corona Events artist company, which proposes an evocative aquatic show directed by Roberto Corona: The Vanity of the Abyss, The Queen of the Sea reappears in Venice to reflect in the Moon.

Saturday 11 February the show of images and aquatic music will officially open the Venice Carnival celebrating beauty, the sea and the vanity with an original staging on the Rio di Cannaregio.

The vanities and preciousness of the underwater world invade Cannaregio to mix with the mysterious and colorful carnival ritual, a centenary ritual that celebrates life. The sea creatures will enchant the public with their beauty and their jealously hidden secrets. You will not miss an exciting tribute to the Moon, which by calling to itself the ancient waters, will accompany a majestic Queen of the abyss with her court of sea creatures.

Show in two replicas, at 18:00 and at 20:00. Free show

The Venetian festival continues on Sunday 12 February with the water procession of the Rowing Associations and the food and wine tours with Venetian specialties.
